We can deliver Trauma Informed Schools and Mental Health First Aid (England) accredited courses from September 2020. In addition, we can provide comprehensive Child Mental Health training courses, SEND wellbeing training as well as consultancy on whole school approaches to embedding wellbeing and emotional health all tailored to your setting.

*We are tailoring our courses to specifically address anxiety and stress issues that may be prevalent due to the Covid 19 pandemic in an effort to help staff support children and young peoples’ resilience.*

Courses & consultancy for Schools

Supporting pupils’ emotional health as they return to school after Covid 19.

Duration: 1 Day

Meeting the emotional challenge of returning to school after lockdown – exploring practical strategies to support children with anxiety. Empowering adults working directly with children to address their wellbeing and teach strategies to manage their emotions and build stronger emotional attachment to school.

Child Mental Health Course

Duration: 1 or 2 Days

Comprehensive training on how to support pupils with the many mental health issues.

Child Mental Health courses cover a wide range of issues giving a greater understanding of the role of all school staff in improving the mental health and wellbeing of their students. These courses develop adults’ confidence and skills to effectively support children and young people improve their wellbeing, resilience and positive mental health. Topics include anxiety, managing exam stress, trauma, eating disorders and depression.

Resilience Workshops

Resilience Workshops sessions concentrate on showing how developing their strengths and coping strategies can contribute to pupils’ improved confidence and greater resilience. These workshops are targeted at staff who work directly with pupils as well as parents offering practical strategies proven to impact resilience.

Trauma Informed Schools UK

Duration: 1 Day

We can provide different levels of training from being trauma aware to eventually working towards Trauma Informed School status. The course will help delegates:

  • Gain knowledge of the impact of trauma and important research;
  • Understand the impact trauma has on a student’s learning;
  • Develop effective relational and conversational skills;
  • Establish interventions for individuals and groups;
  • Understand the impact of being a trauma aware school
  • Develop a Trauma Informed Schools Relationship School Policy;
  • Plan to become a Trauma Informed School
  • Explore ways to support staff as they become trauma informed

Trauma focused whole school training for teachers and support staff

Duration: 1 or 2 Days

  • Complements existing good practice in your school
  • Adds knowledge and skills aimed at reducing exclusions
  • Builds stronger relationships between staff and students
  • Develops behaviour management techniques
  • Creates a listening culture – genuine Pupil Voice

Youth Mental Health First Aid (England from October 2020)

Duration: 2 Days

2 day course for mental health leads, SENCOs and pastoral staff exploring all aspects of children’s mental health issues and ways to support them in school. Ideal for Mental Health Leads in schools.

Whole school approaches to wellbeing

We offer a consultancy service around whole school approaches to mental health and wellbeing. We can audit existing good practice and build strong collaborative partnerships to support schools in creating approaches to build resilience and wellbeing.
